Our kennels are made up of five lodges with outsideyards, alongside three specialised whelping boxes.
When the hounds are out on exercise or feeding, they mix together as one big pack. However, when we are in the yards, we separate them into different groups—the un-entered (young) hounds, the dogs, the bitches, and the hot bitches. This stops any arguments or accidental breeding, and keeps the energetic youngsters from annoying the older hounds who just want to sleep all day!
06:30 – Pack mixing and morning exercise (either alongside bikes or on foot).
07:30 – 08:00 – Return from exercise for washing down and cleaning out the kennels.
09:00 – Foot washing and splitting the pack ready for breakfast.
09:15 – 10:30 – Feeding Time! We feed a mix of raw meat and biscuit. We always "draw off" the lighter or slower eaters first so they can take their time and stay in peak condition. We then feed the rest of the entered hounds, followed by the un-entered hounds and hot bitches.
10:30 – 14:00 – Great Kennel Snooze (nap time for everyone).
14:00 – 15:00 – Afternoon wander to stretch legs and enjoy some time outside the kennel walls.
15:00 – Bedtime stories (and then we repeat it all again tomorrow!).
Thank you so much to all of our sponsors. Your support keeps Rambo singing, Cobweb sprinting, and Gifted happily fed (even when she's on a diet!).
